For a book of special studies,
I always pick up the crucial aspects
and summarise it on paper.
全体像を掴むため
１つ１つの要素をほどき 組み立て
わたし用に 再構築する
To grab the whole view,
I first resolve it into small pieces.
And then, I bring them together again
to reconstruct it for my own.
それは図式のようでも
相関図のようでもある
It looks like a diagram
or a relation chart.
難解な本に出逢うと
それがおもしろくも 絡み合いすぎ
こんがらがり 諦めそうになる
For a difficult book,
even though it’s very interesting,
I nearly give up the work too complicating
and over my head.
さらにそれを 清書に起こす
Moreover, I desire the fair copy.
鬱蒼とした下書きには および腰になる
「未だ」なときは 日を置いて
でも 「よしっ」と覚悟を決めて 取り組む
Jungle-like notes get me cold feet.
When I feel “not ready”, I leave it for days.
Then, I make up my mind “let’s now” and tackle it.
なるようになる
なりきり なりきってやる
It turns out as it is.
I can do as I can.
整然と仕上げられると
本が身体の一部になった感じがする
When I finish it orderly, I feel like
the book gets a part of me.
